What Are Chronic & Vestibular Migraines?

Chronic migraines and vestibular migraines are neurological conditions that can cause much more than head pain, including dizziness, balance problems, visual disturbances, and other symptoms that affect daily life.

Living With Chronic & Vestibular Migraines

Migraines are often misunderstood as "just headaches," but they are actually a complex neurological disorder that can affect the entire body. Symptoms can include head pain, light sensitivity, sound sensitivity, nausea, visual changes, dizziness, balance problems, brain fog, and overwhelming fatigue.

Vestibular migraines can be especially disruptive because they affect the body's sense of balance and movement. Even when head pain is mild or absent, dizziness, motion sensitivity, and a feeling of being disconnected from the world around you can make everyday activities difficult.

For me, migraines have had a major impact on my quality of life. They can affect my ability to work, focus, drive, tolerate bright environments, and participate in activities I enjoy. During flare-ups, even simple tasks can become exhausting.

One of the most frustrating parts is how unpredictable they can be. Symptoms may improve for a while and then suddenly become worse again, making it difficult to plan ahead or trust that a good day will stay a good day.

Living with chronic migraines means constantly adapting, monitoring symptoms, and learning how to navigate a world that often keeps moving even when your brain needs it to slow down.
